Whitney James West is a story-rich writer, author, speaker & communications consultant, and Certified Pastoral Counselor based in Maryland. Her life and work are shaped by faith, healing, spiritual formation, and the courage to tell stories that reveal beauty, truth, and the quiet strength found in waiting.
A devoted wife and mother to her son, Baby Boy West, born a sleeping angel, Whitney's writing invites readers to wrestle with life’s complexities while remaining rooted in the sustaining presence of God. Her book, How You Wait Matters, offers a biblically rooted approach to navigating life's in-between seasons with purpose and peace. The themes in her first book continue to inform her speaking, counseling, and writing.
A proud Baltimore native, Whitney holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in pastoral counseling and communication. She is also certified in Prepare/Enrich Premarital & Marriage Counseling, Blended Adult Mental Health First Aid, and Social Media Marketing, equipping her to serve with both deep compassion and strategic insight.
Whitney is the Founder and Executive Director of The Fearless Woman Collective (TFWC), a faith-based organization she launched in 2015 to equip women through biblical teaching, intentional gathering, and authentic community. Though TFWC is currently in a season of rebuilding, Whitney continues to create spaces where women are encouraged to reflect, heal, deepen their faith, and live with purpose.
