Hello, my name is Toni Jackson and I was born and raised in Washington, DC. Since a young age, I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I was published in my local newspaper at age eleven, won multiple prizes for my writing in high school and went on to study creative writing in college. I grew up in a neighborhood that wasn’t always safe. My eldest brother, Antoine, was stabbed to death in the building I grew up in and my mother knew that it was too rough for her only daughter…because of this; reading has always been my escape. When I couldn’t go play outside or even take walks around my neighborhood, books would transport me. Now, I live in Los Angeles, still chasing that dream of being published and meditating by the shores. I do not use social media as I consider myself awkward on camera but I always put my best foot forward for every passion project. Please do not let the lack of online presence and followers fool ya’!
