Janaé Willis-Beard is a strategic storyteller and arts executive whose work reimagines legacy, love, and luxury through the lens of Black excellence.
She is the creator of The Obsidian Court, a cinematic book series centered on powerful Black families navigating wealth, power, and generational secrets. With a background in arts leadership, nonprofit consulting, and cultural storytelling, Janaé brings both depth and imagination to her narratives—fusing emotional complexity with aspirational worlds.
Her writing reflects influences from Toni Morrison, Shonda Rhimes, and Jacqueline Woodson, with a voice that is both poetic and grounded, sensual and structured. She is currently developing a companion subscription box and media extensions for The Obsidian Court, rooted in her commitment to celebrating Black opulence, emotional honesty, and generational healing.
Janaé lives in Texas and is the founder of Phoenix Arts & Advocacy Consulting, where she champions equity-centered leadership and creative entrepreneurship.
