My name is Shontavia Buchanan, and I also write under the pen name Tavia B. I’ve always had a passion for storytelling, especially stories that highlight legacy, resilience, and the strength of Black womanhood. My debut novel Freeda is inspired by both history and imagination, weaving together the past and present to explore identity, family, and love.

Outside of writing, I work in human resources and am currently completing my degree in Business Administration with a focus on HR Management. I love reading, history, singing, and creating projects that inspire others. Writing is not just my passion but my purpose, and through Freeda and future books, I hope to uplift voices, share untold stories, and leave behind a lasting legacy.
