Sharon Matthews Fortune is a proud graduate of Virginia State University, where she obtained both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Besides graduating with honors, Sharon shares that her most cherished accomplishments include being initiated into the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. during the Spring of 1987, and later being crowned Miss Virginia State University in 1988. She is a seasoned psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with over two decades of experience. Throughout her career as a mental health and substance abuse clinician, Sharon worked in various settings including community mental health and inpatient hospitalization until she founded her private practice in 2003. Sharon is sincere in her efforts to help women understand their role in dysfunctional relationships, and her compassionate spirit and genuine desire to empower her clients to live their best lives led to her writing and publishing two books. She has developed the art of gently guiding her clients, after having lost their way, back to their truth to facilitate healing from the lies that have kept them stuck and defeated.
