Kristen Wells-Collins is a chemist, educator, and founder of Black to the Lab, a nationally recognized STEM education brand that delivers culturally relevant, hands-on science experiences to girls across the country. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master’s in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University. With a strong belief in the transformative power of education and representation, Kristen launched Black to the Lab to help bridge gender and racial gaps in STEM by blending play, culture, and learning. Her work has impacted over 3,000 young girls through activity kits, workshops, and in-person learning experiences. She has been featured in Ebony, Blavity, D Magazine, and the Amazon Holiday Gift Guide, and is a TEDx speaker and Dallas Mavericks pitch competition winner. Kristen is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she formerly served as Southwest Regional Representative and currently serves on the National Social Action Commission.
