Nicole Yarde is an author, educator, writing coach, and founder of Black REwrite, a professional and creative home dedicated to strengthening, publishing, and celebrating Black writers across every genre. She founded Black REwrite in response to the banning and removal of books from classrooms and library shelves, firmly believing that Black narratives are more important than ever and that cultural preservation requires actively promoting Black literature, protecting Black stories, and supporting the writers who create them.

With more than twenty years of experience in the New York City public education system, Nicole has designed instructional programs, led large-scale initiatives, and helped educators and writers transform ideas into meaningful, completed work. She is the author of Not Just Words: Writing as Liberation and The REWRITE Method, a writing framework she created to help writers examine their work, strengthen their storytelling, and revise without sacrificing the voice and cultural truth that make the story their own.

A lifelong lover of suspense thrillers, Nicole wanted to see something different from the familiar white male protagonists represented by characters such as James Bond, Jason Bourne, Jack Ryan, Jack Reacher, James Reece, and John Wick. That desire inspired her unreleased suspense thriller, The REWRITE Protocol, which centers Black men as heroes who are complex, imperfect, emotionally layered, and fully human. Through both her fiction and her work with Black REwrite, Nicole is committed to placing Black voices at the center of stories and genres in which they have too often been pushed to the margins.
