My name is Kymbriell Finch, and I am a community leader, water safety advocate, and storyteller committed to amplifying voices that too often go unheard. For over 15 years, I have created transformative spaces in aquatics, education, and cultural programming, connecting hundreds of students and families to opportunities that nurture confidence, resilience, and belonging.
Although I’m approaching 30 with no biological children, I often say I have hundreds within the community that I proudly show up for. Through my nonprofit, Courageous Leap Inc., I’ve witnessed how representation and storytelling can shift lives, whether it’s teaching a child to swim, mentoring a teen, or helping a family reclaim joy around the water.
Layered: Black Women’s Stories of Love and Liberation is an extension of that same commitment. It preserves the richness of our history, celebrates the fullness of Black womanhood, and ensures that future generations inherit stories of strength, healing, and love.
