Jeremiah Marcele is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, and freelance opera singer who explores the intersections of sacred text, personal history, and modern identity. He/They currently serve on the faculty at the University of Iowa. Sanders has previously co-hosted the podcasts The List Live and Mz. Information and Mimosas. While this Lamentations X Jeremiah II focuses on examining loneliness, joy, sex, grief, and other themes through a distinct Black queer lens, Sanders’ usual forté usually includes performing Bel canto, Romantic, 20th Century, and Black composers of opera and song. Sanders’ other creative practices include composing, dancing, and conducting.
