DePrincia S. McClain is a Louisiana native, born and raised in Abita Springs, with a deep-rooted passion for advocacy, leadership, and storytelling. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Legal Thought and Liberal Arts from the University of Memphis, a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, and dual graduate degrees—an MBA and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership—from the Florida Institute of Technology.
DePrincia brings over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, where she has held various leadership roles with a focus on compliance, ethics, and risk management. She currently serves as a Vice President and Business Risk Officer, overseeing global sanctions within the capital markets sector. She is also a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), underscoring her commitment to integrity and accountability in complex regulatory environments.
A lifelong learner and global thinker, DePrincia is an avid traveler who draws inspiration from the stories and perspectives of people from all walks of life. Her journeys have shaped her nuanced approach to identity, womanhood, and the evolving balance between modern and traditional values. Since 2017, she has also served as a Guardian ad Litem for Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit, advocating for the rights and well-being of children in the legal system.
As she’s grown into womanhood, navigating dating, career, and the expectations placed on modern women, DePrincia has become increasingly vocal about the stereotypes women face. From the pressures amplified on social media to the societal expectation to be everything to everyone, she believes the real issue lies in imbalance, not ambition. Through her work and her writing, she aims to remind readers that there is no single "right" way to be a woman. Women are complex, multifaceted, and worthy of directing their own lives, whether they lean modern, traditional, or somewhere in between.
