My mother is from Egypt. My father is French. I grew up in France, moved to the UK where I was educated, I began work in publishing, working in publishing. I received an MFA and my last position in the UK was Publication Director for the US Chamber of Commerce before moving to America where I've been a psychotherapist. Additionally I've worked with Indie Blu(e) Publishing, a feminist micro-press for nearly 8 years. I wrote for Rattle, World Literature Today (the print version) SoFloPo and Northern Poetry Review alongside being Writer-in-Residence with Borderless Journal. More recently I took a position as Managing Editor with Lit Fox Books (Austin, TX). I am also Consultant Editor with Raw Earth Ink Publishing (Alaska) for over 5 years and I consult on most of their acquisitions. I helped support Queer Ink (India) to give voices to queer Indian writers. I was Poetry Editor for Blackbird Press, The Pine Cone Review and Parcham Literary as well as co-judge of The Northwind Writing Award (2023/24). Currently I'm also Poetry Editor with Tint Journal (Austria) where I also mentor ESL writers through a close symbiotic relationship of editing, Life & Legends Magazine, Writers Resist and co-judge of the Silver River Poetry Prize.
I am an advocate for immigration reform and equality in publishing. I love working with indie publishers.
I have written and published widely. I routinely write for CounterCurrents, Borderless Journal, World Literature Today and others. My poetry collections are: A Jar for the Jarring (Palpitate Press), The Bright Day has gone Child and you are in for the Dark (chapbook - out of print), Illusions of Existing (chapbook - out of print), Sit in Fever (chapbook - out of print), Pinch the Lock (Finishing Line Press), Tainted by the Same Counterfeit (Finishing Line Press) and my debut novel, The Cruelty (FlowerSong Press - they only have US rights).
I have co-edited over 30 anthologies. Many award-winning. I have edited many stand-alone books in all genres.
